Also do most of my heavier projects run just on the Windows PC and use Parsec from my Mac. Is my main travel machine and will bring an Xbox controller with me to play remotely. Use Playnite for console experience and either Xbox controller or my favorite accessory in the world: Roccat Sova for full M+K experience.Ĭlient 2: Macbook Pro 14, use Parsec on this constantly, but probably more often work than even gaming. This system also has Playnite on it, and after this post will add AutoGame.Ĭlient 1: Mini PC (either Celeron J4105 or i3 7th Gen) in the living room connected to main TV. $10 bucks solved years of figuring something out. I spent *years* trying to get WOL working on my network consistently and never could, until one day in a very old LTT video they off hand mention you can set in your BIOS to wake on power loss. +1 for the other guy who mentioned the TP Link Kasa smart switches. Parsec always runs no matter what, and is set to launch of startup. Host: (recently upgraded) 12700k + 3080ti that sits in my room connected to my main gaming monitor. I've been searching for a piece of software like AutoGame for a while and never found it, so thanks for sharing! I've been using Parsec for over 3 years and am a very prolific commenter over here, and yet I'm still learning new stuff every day reading your guys' setups. But I am upgrading my internal network to 10 Gigabit atm (installing everything literally today lmao) and WOL will not work anymore with that so I got some TP Link Kasa smart outlets and will set the PCs to wake after power recovery in the bios so when I need to turn them on I can just turn off and on the Kasa switch to boot them up. Originally I used a small fanless mini pc as a client and with a VPN from my router to access my network I would send an ssh command to it to run a PowerShell script that would either turn on, off, or restart any pc at home. I also have Parsec on my computer at work and sometimes when its not busy I may jump on and play a game of COD or something (Tried using Moonlight there but it always had way more lag than Parsec), I also do have a system that let's me turn on the computers remotely as well since I don't want to leave it on 24/7. Rarely use this honestly but sometimes when I have a movie or something on the TV it's nice to just play something on a little handheld. Using the one at my desk with my keyboard and mouse or a Xbox controller is also awesome.Ĭlient 3: iPhone 14 Pro with Xbox controller and phone mount. I decided to just build a computer instead and so far its actually been amazing, I use a program called Controller Companion and a Insignia Xbox controller chatpad so I use only an Xbox controller to control the whole pc, nothing buffers at all anymore and it just plays as soon as I hit play and comparing the Shield TV I had before this input lag is way lower now. Instead of using something like a Nvidia Shield or Amazon Firestick etc. (Originally bought this to be my sole gaming device but after a few months decided to build the gaming server and it's not worth it to sell it and get a different laptop so I just keep using this one.)Ĭlient 2: HTPC's (Home Theater PC + an exact copy of them is what's at my desk) 12400, RTX 3050. I mainly use Moonlight but after hearing Gamestream may be going away I will probably start just using Parsec mainly instead of it being a backup, but I wanted to have a good gaming experience while not having to deal with the noise or heat from a gaming pc being right next to me so I built up a whole system in my home that I can stream my gaming pc anywhere and so far it works really well!Ĭlient 1: Razer Blade 17 (2022) 12800H, 3080TI. Also going to try a dummy HDMI to save power from the monitor. ![]() Hopefully, Parsec team will launch a native Xbox app.Īnother thing I'm gonna try next is Castor so I can use the PC while my wife is playing an emulator game. Currently using Moonlight app on Xbox that works. What's missing is accessing Parsec from the living room TV. ![]() Other software I used: reWASD to be able to change the controller profile from Xbox to switch also mouse+keyboard mode when needed, Displayfusion to switch resolution and active monitors, Playnite as the game launcher, and Autogame app so it launches whenever Parsec client connected. Just want to get inspired and learn by other people's setup, it seems I found something new everyday.Ĭlient 1: Macbook Air M1, with 8bitdo SN30 Pro+ controller.Ĭlient 2: Samsung flip 4, with Gamesir X2 Bluetooth, launched from Daijishō I don't know if this kind of post is allowed, so pls mod if this violates any rules, mercy on me, and just delete this post.
